6 Exercises You’ll Want To Do Every Day

With your total workout taking less than 20 minutes a day (just 12.5 minutes if you follow the guidelines below exactly), you can’t say no to these movements and even better, your body will love you for it!

Let’s face it, your body wants attention! It wants to move! And with the amount of sitting in front of a computer most people do every day, ergonomic and even gaming chairs are being designed so you can sit for longer periods of time more comfortably. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean sitting longer is good for you.

While playing games, reading books, (yes, even reading about exercises), along with the work you do all day on computers is enticing. But because of the health issues this creates, books warning of the danger of sitting too long, are popping up all over the internet – to battle the lure of the comfy chair!

But there’s hope and you don’t have to give up your comfy chair to do it. You just need to set your FITBIT, watch or phone to remind you to get up once an hour. Just once an hour and you’ll feel better for it! Think of how active you mind active is by playing games, reading books, watching a movie and working – anything that makes you think is activity for your brain, so why not give your body some attention too? Getting up hourly will keep your blood circulating and give your muscles the attention they crave!

And the good news it that the exercises listed below can help you get active – every day. Plan the best time for you (some people get up earlier to exercise, some like the mid-day energy of a workout, and others exercise after work). Choose your schedule for these:

  • 2 minute warm-up
  • 1 minute each of the 6 exercises below
  • 30 second rest between exercises
  • 2 minute cool-down

= just 12.5 minutes!

  1. Reblogged this on One Regular Guy Writing about Food, Exercise and Living Past 100 and commented:

As an old retired guy, 17 years, but who’s counting, ‘finding the time’ isn’t something I do any more. For those of you with regular jobs, I apologize for my forgetfulness. I realize that sometimes, when you have a demanding job/career, it can be difficult to impossible to ‘find the time’ to exercise. So, I thought I would share this excellent post from the Professionals Health Connection on working in some working out.

    1. Thank you Tony! I can change the printable exercises to larger font – just let me know if there’s an interest. I like to print them because I always forget the ‘proper’ form :) BTW – the blogs with SF have slightly larger font too – I’m trying to fit them in once a week – but again, if there’s an interest, or it’s not large enough, I’m happy to accommodate… Thank you again – you are AWESOME! :)
